Texas update

Well it is now 1:35pm and we are about 20 miles from Amarillo, TX. Our last stop was at a rest area call Safety Rest in Conley County. It has been raining every since we left MS. We believe it is because of the tornado in the Gulf.
We are running a little behind in travel because of the rain and expect to be in Santa Fe by 8pm tonight CST.

They say Texas is flat for miles..... believe it. The next stop which should be in about an hour, I plan to start driving to give Joe a break. When we left the Arlington, TX campground we were about 12 hours away from Santa Fe. We had hoped to be closer, but I guess the holiday traffic and all.

Well anyway, that is all for now. My verizon WiFi is acting a little slow.

Joe and Iris, I am glad that your trip is going well. My husband and I are usually on the road during the holidays. However, this year we took a short trip to Greenwood to my neighborhood reunion. We had a wonderful time. Joe, we had a banquet dinner and dance at the Elks July 2, and a picnic at Whittington Park the following Saturday. It was so nice to see childhood friends, former neighbors, as well as classmates at both events.
