2010 Summer - Day 25 thru 30
The drive from Zion to Park City was about four hours. Our route on I-15 took us to Salt Lake. Then we took I-80 east bound. The next 20 miles to Park City required us to make about a 10 mile climb up a mountain at a 5 - 6% grade. We saw several cars that had overheated on the side of the road and most 18-wheelers were creeping along at about 30-40 MPH in the right lane. Fortunately we were able to go around them without having to slow down and loose momentum. Once at the RV resort we just relaxed for the rest of the day.
Park City was the site of the 2002 Winter Olympics. We could see the huge dual ski jumps from the resort. I have never seen so many mountain ski trails. I can see this area being a favorite for those who ski. Downtown Park City is quite small. However it has a variety of speciality shops and restaurants. Iris spent her days at her business conference and I didn't do much of anything other than relax.
Tomorrow we begin our trip home. It's been fun.
